2001 Columbia 29′ 5th wheel

July 25th, 2010

A “rear-living” double slide, fiberglass exterior 5th wheel for under $10,000 bucks! No kidding, it isn’t perfect but it’s dry inside and has no ofensive odors, or stains.
This model “rear-living” designates the floor plan, with glider-rocker chairs in the rear by a big window, and a built-in entertainment area toward the front. Great for your favorite view.
The exterior shows some dlamination (wrinkles) in the front, but no water damage. Also the decals are faded and peeling… a little elbow greese can have it looking like new.
Great guest house or summer home for somebody on a budget!

Did anyone get by without a rocker/glider?

July 18th, 2010

Or is this a must-have item for a new baby? Seems like upholstered ones cannot be had for less than $400 or so. Did you definitely need a comfy rocker? Was anyone able to just use an old fashion rocking chair? Did you keep it in your baby’s room or in your living room?

Thanks for any info anyone has on Rockers/Gliders!

I have a comfy, well padded, beautiful antique rocker and I plan to use that! Why spend the money if you have something that will work as well. I agree with others though that you can get a nice one for less that $400 but if you have a rocker already, just use that and put the other money towards diapers!! Best wishes!!

Has anyone purchased a black (pleather or vinyl) rocker glider from K-Mart in the past?

July 9th, 2010

I purchased a black rocker glider from K-Mart in 2005. I moved and couldn’t take it with me but now I am looking for another rocker glider and I dont think K-Mart carries it anymore. I need to know the brand so I can look for it somewhere else. Or if anyone has any reccommendations on rocker glider’s you’ve bought. Im 8 months pregnant and really want a rocker glider to feed and rock my new baby. Thanks!

Why don’t you go back to K-Mart and talk to them and tell them what you are looking for. They may be able to order one for you if not they may be able to tell you where you can purchase one. They may have one in one of there other stores and can have it shipped to there store for you.

Pregnancy @ 35 weeks

July 5th, 2010

I decided on a C-section due to Twin A. Though both twins are currently heads down again (she keeps flipping around), Twin A isn’t doing so well and therefore it has been decided on that I’ll be delivering earlier than I wanted. Hopefully, the twins will be born healthy with no complications. So by this coming Friday (July 9th) I’ll be able to meet my twin girls! How scary yet exciting!

Thank you all for experiencing this journey with me. I’ll most likely share my experiences with raising twins as a first time parent so please watch that as well!

In the meantime, please also visit my blog: http://bekhi.blogspot.com. I’ll try to update my experiences there as well!

Glider/Rocker for Nursery?

July 5th, 2010

Anyone have any opinions on the brand Shermag or Jardine? One better quality than the other?
Thanks for the answers so far. I just ordered a Shermag online from Target. I’m pleased to know it’s a good brand.

We bought a Shermag – the $750 set glider and stool. We talk about how worth it it was so much that it’s overmentioned in this house! We’ve owned it for three years.
Let me first say I’m frugal with money and this is the most expensive piece of furniture we own. I like getting good deals, but we felt like this would be a worthy investment considering how much I was planning on using it.
The glider was awesome – first, because it was slightly larger than your cheap brands – when my baby grew to toddler he could squeeze his skinny butt next to my growing belly and there was room for two toy cars and a book with space to spare.
Using it obsessively before and after baby did not wear on the cushions, although I had a blanket over it so that cats didn’t shed all over it – our cats are black and the chair was tan… not a good combo.
When I was pregnant, the chair felt like it was made for me – it still is, during pregnancy, the only place I feel like I can truly relax. It has excellent back support – even better than our car, which is top in its class, lol. When breastfeeding, it was the perfect setup and had all the space I could need.
I had a friend with the cheapest kind of glider, and it sat unused a lot – whereas mine seems to still be the favorite and most comfortable seat in our house. My husband and I would fight over it – except he makes a big deal out if it being the MOMMY chair :) But he does love any chance he gets to sit in it!
There is nothing handier than all the little extras like the lock on the chair and ottoman.
Also: Make sure you get the ottoman. It’s not that much more and we feel it’s really essential.
Other than that: high quality wood, all parts fit beautifully, never squeaks or groans when rocking, and the quality of the fabric is terrific. No complaints whatsoever.

Where should I put my nursing chair?

July 1st, 2010

I have TWO nursing chairs one is a Lazy boy recliner and the other is a gliding rocking chair with gliding foot stool.
The majority of my nursings will be in the living room
Night time feedings will be done in nursery
Lazy boy http://www.giftsplushome.com/lazyboy/10505lg.jpg
rocks, can’t rock while reclines. lies almost flat when fully reclined, foot rest doesn’t rock.
Glider http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://decor-home.net/img/4/5227.jpg&imgrefurl=http://decor-home.net/product/4/7292/Bone-Color-Leatherette-Swivel-Glider-Rocker-Recliner-Chair-and-Ottoman.html&usg=__E2l5lSIvC-r2wxg9P7QYdphKoT0=&h=380&w=450&sz=67&hl=en&start=5&um=1&itbs=1&tbnid=DKGU2fngOVNZyM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dglider%2Brocking%2Bchair%2Bwith%2Bottoman%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26rlz%3D1C1DVCC_enCA358CA358%26tbs%3Disch:1
can rock and recline at the same time, foot stool rocks

SO, which one should go in the nursery and which should go in the living room

the lazy boy should go in your living room and the glider should go in her nursery :D i have the same glider !

Glider/rocker for baby nursery?

June 26th, 2010

I am looking for a good glider set for my nursery. My husband is a husky guy, he weighs around 220. Any suggestions where and which one I should buy?

I would go to a store that has displays out and actually sit in one (both you and your husband). You will be able to tell if its sturdy or not by the way it would creak when you sat in it. Thats all I can suggest really. I don’t know of any good brand particularly. Ours is a cheapie that my parents had bought for a vacation cabin that has since been sold, and we got the chair from it. Its creaky and cheap, but does the trick. The second you sit in it you can tell its not of great quality, but it works.
So go try some out. Good luck and congrats!

Go to your local craigslist.org and look under furniture. Great prices on used furniture.
